Losing A Loved One

I recently found out through Facebook about the loss of a mother of one of my college friends. His mom was laid to rest four days before Christmas. I didn’t know the reason of her passing but I could imagine how hard it was for them and what a difficult time it is for my friend’s family to be coping with the loss of their mother especially during the Christmas season. Indeed sometimes, words are not enough to comfort them with their loss. There are ways we can show them we care and we are there for them. Sometimes it means something to them when we send a sympathy gift basket for my friend as a way of somehow trying to express my sympathy.

A thoughtful sympathy gift may be funeral wreaths, white flower arrangements, and gourmet baskets of comforting snacks. It is never easy losing a loved one. I could feel the pain of their loss and much more for the immediate family of the lost loved one. We can also pray for strength and hope that they will be able to move and live on with hope that there is a purpose to life and a reason for everything that happens in life no matter how painful it can be like losing a loved one.
