Common Foods Causing Your Allergies

Our little boy’s cough can be caused by allergies according to the pedia. After hearing that, I went on to search for what causes allergies. I stumbled into a list of Common Foods Causing Your Allergies:

  1. Dairy products – cow’s milk products found in many food products such as yogurt, cheese, sour cream, salad dressings, those prepared meals as well as those yummy baked goods you like. It also include milk and cheese made from goat, sheep and buffalo. You may opt instead for organic rice, hemp, almond, coconut and soy milk products and cheese products free of lactose, whey and casein.
  2. Gluten Grains – I think last year have I started hearing about allergy to gluten that brought out those gluten free diet. Switch to amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat and oats if you are allergic to gluten.
  3. Eggs – I think the little boy is allergic to this. I am too especially when I have a cough I have to avoid eating this. (more…)

Healthy Glow

I was at the hospital again today for a couple of blood tests requested by the IM gastro. I had to wait for exactly two hours after eating a full meal before they can perform the test. While waiting for the time, I cannot help but watch the different people passing by in front of me. Then I suddenly noticed some people especially doctors had such a healthy glow of their skin. It’s either their skin are being well taken cared of by a good derma or it is because of their genes or simply because they eat fruits that help them show that skin’s healthy glow.

Yes when I was growing up, we love to eat fruits. I think that helped give me then a healthy glowing skin. Aside of course that I am really greedy with sleep then especially during school break like summer. My mom let us eat lots of fruits aside of course from having fruits trees planted at home like avocado, banana, mango, rambutan, jackfruit, etc. The avocado was really one of the fruits that I think gave much contribution on my skin’s healthy glow then. Only my face would sometimes get to show some pimples then during my adolescent years.

If you want to have a skin with a healthy glow, I really recommend eating fruits, and lots of them each day. Of course not to much.

Hyperacidity or Dyspepsia

A few days ago I was concerned a bit of having symptoms of hyper-acidity or otherwise known as dyspepsia.

Who wants to experience hyperacidity? Definitely not me! I have been through a terrible experience with it that made me end up in the hospital for the very first time. Well that was years ago and never would I ever want that to happen ever again.

There are some food that can lessen the symptoms of hyperacidity or dyspepsia. Fruits and vegetables can help though note that high fibre foods are to be avoided as well. Stay away or avoid fatty food like pork belly, those food that has so much butter, deep fried food, those creamy dishes as well. Avoid as well white bread, sweets (oh my how can I resist this kind of food), alcoholic drinks, coffee or spicy food.

I do know about the spicy food which happens to be something that my husband likes so much. I have noticed the effect of those deep fried and fatty food in relation to hyperacidity when I was in my collecge days. I know then I should be avoiding them when I have the symptoms of hyperacidity already.
