Seeing my preggy friend a few days ago made me remember something that I have read somewhere where some studies and research have somewhat found that there could be a link between a woman’s sleeping position in pregnancy and stillbirth. I usually sleep on my left most of my life and that is what I remember until now even when I was still pregnant with our dear child a few years ago.
Interesting to know that studies have found that those preggy women who slept on their left just like I do has lesser risk of still birth compared to women who sleep on their right side or on their back. It makes us think that the night before giving birth, it may help and there is nothing to lose if you sleep on your left. I cannot remember the real reason as of now why I was advised by my ob before to sleep on my left but I think it has something to do with the liver. There was an explanation to that but I could not remember now. Again there is nothing to lose for preggy moms to sleep on their left side or better ask your OB’s thought on this.
